Earlier in September, after 5 months of waiting, we got our zoning permit from the county and days later got our building permit. We were able to get things lined up quickly with the help of Mike's Dad and so here begins the new house journey!! Our mound was put in eariler this week toward the back of the lot. The kids were excited--they thought it was a giant sand box hill for them to play on. The culvert & driveway were done earlier that same day. The basement was started yesterday. It's not a deep hole--I could jump in and get out without a problem. Much of the basement walls will be covered by fill and by the wrap around porch . We went out there last night after a meeting at school to check it out--it looks like a wave pool without water in it! We didn't stick around too long...the mosquitos were attacking us!
Things are happening so fast! I know it isn't going to always be like this, so we have to just go with the flow and get things going whenever we can!!
